Tehran

This series centers on urban spaces, initially inspired by locations within the city of Tehran. It reflects a combination of expressive interpretation with formal simplifications and a limited color palette, which best encapsulates its essence.

The drawings were mostly created on-site, capturing the immediacy of the environment, while the process of painting and simplifying forms was completed later in my studio. This approach highlights the formalist tendencies and a strong focus on composition within the works.

Working in this manner allowed me the flexibility to draw my subjects at any time of day or night. As a result, some pieces depict the quiet intimacy of nighttime, further enriching the narrative of urban life in this series.
