“Guardian of Balance” is now permanently installed on the wall outside Cold Press at 326 Harvard St, Brookline, MA. This sculpture was commissioned through the Brookline Art Makes Community public art initiative, and I am proud to have collaborated with the Remarkable Liz Helfer and Niloufar Keyhani to bring this vision to life. Many thanks to Brookline’s Aaron Norris, the selection committee, and everyone who contributed to the fabrication and installation of this sculpture: Holly Kelly, Mel Leib, Matt Hanna, Sarah Huber, and Ben Latimer.

Guardian of Balance, made of acrylic and steel, explores the theme of work-life balance in a post-pandemic world. The sculpture features two interconnected architectural forms inspired by the distinctive architecture of Coolidge Corner, housing stylized figures that symbolize individuals navigating the complexities of work and personal life. We invite you to engage with the interactive sliding elements, allowing you to physically adjust the balance between the figures. This experience reflects the dynamic journey of maintaining our work-life equilibrium.

Come visit, interact with the sculpture, and discover your balance!
